Plugin and Viz Extensions updates

This week’s newsletter will be short and efficient.

We will focus on the different updates you may have missed in our tools.

Figma to Tableau: Export

I have not necessarily shared many updates of our Figma to Tableau Pugin in this newsletter, so here’s a recap of all the updates since the product is out:

  • Multi Dashboard Export: You can export multiple dashboards at once by selecting multiple Figma Frames.

  • Navigations Buttons Export: all the Figma nodes that start with NAV/ are converted to Navigation Buttons in Tableau.
    Example: NAV/Product creates a Navigation Button that redirects to the Product dashboard in Tableau

  • Image Export: all the Figma nodes that start with IMAGE/ are converted to Images in Tableau.
    The plugin already converts Figma images to images in Tableau, but you can now force it. This allows you to convert groups or frames to images instantly.

  • Web Object Export: all the Figma nodes that start with URL/ are converted to Web Object.
    Example: URL/www.google.com creates a Web Object to google.com

  • Tableau Public: Exported dashboards can be opened with Tableau Public

  • Sheet swapping:When adding a Worksheet to the design, if the currently selected element is a SHEETnode, then the plugin will replace (swap) the old worksheet with the new one (instead of adding it to the right of the dashboard).

  • Many small bug corrections and error messages

Figma to Tableau: Generator

We have added the possibility of adding your logo to the generator and saving it, so your logo will appear automatically on each new dashboard you generate!

Viz Extensions

Vix Extensions have been out for two weeks, and we are adding new features and correcting bugs daily!

Here are all the updates so far:

  • Tree Rotation: You can rotate the tree when displayed as Radial.

  • Gauge Position: You can better position your Gauge using the X and Y options to move it around.

  • Legend format: You can change the background color and text color of the Legend so it better blends with the rest of your design

  • TREX generator: After purchasing a license, you must add your license key to the different .trex files. You can now use a special link to automatically generate all the .trex files with the key.

  • Bug fix: Some preferences were not correctly saved, and the tooltip was sometimes not showing.

We are also working on new Extensions and will share them with you soon!
