Hi everyone!
A lot of updates this week, so let's get straight to it.
The KPI Card got its biggest update since launch, all extensions received quality-of-life improvements, and we have a new way to test our extensions. Let’s also add a new pricing option and… maybe a surprise at the end!
Let's go!
KPI Card: Major update
A while ago, Kevin Flerlage invited us to participate in a collaborative blog post comparing different approaches to building KPIs in Tableau.
He challenges us to rebuild his VOTD dashboard using our KPI Card extension.
Building it highlighted some functionality that our extension was missing. That was the perfect excuse to push the KPI Card further. Here's what's new:
Previous period: show last year's value directly on the chart and display it in the KPI text.
Dynamic title: put a dimension on the Detail mark card to create a dynamic KPI title (it can be parameter-driven!)
Target: control the target text and color independently, and add the target to the chart.

We'll share Kevin's blog post as soon as it's live!
Updates for all extensions
The KPI Card is not the only one getting some love. All our extensions received improvements:
Margins: set the top, right, bottom, and left spacing around the chart.
Smarter axes: tick labels are automatically truncated or thinned so they no longer overlap.
Sorted colors: colors are now correctly sorted in the Format Extension window, making it easier to apply color palettes.
Plus other rendering improvements and new options.

Test the extensions yourself
We added a new option in the URL of the TREX file: ?showconfig. It lets you open the configuration window of our extensions directly on a published dashboard, so you can play with all the settings without installing anything.
We'll use this across all our extensions on our website, so you can easily test them!
Try it here on Tableau Public:
New unlimited pricing
Last but not least, we now offer an unlimited pricing option for the Viz Extensions, along with a brand-new store page.
Check it out!
